I have always been a music enthusiast and though at times some Hindi songs literally make me want to bang my head against the wall, some songs are too beautiful, too real and raw as they connect with you and your soul immensely!
Personally not a fan of this new trend of what it seems like 'remake every goddamn famous song' period. But won't deny the fact that some Hindi songs that I have heard over the years have really moved or impacted me and even inspired me to dream more.
So here's a list of 9 mesmerizing Hindi songs that are not just songs but life lessons we all definitely need -
1. Kun Faya Kun- Okay, but this whole album- 'Rockstar' is just too good to handle. Everybody knows this song, everyone has cried in a corner because of the effect this song has had on them. The song is originally a Qawwali which is taken from the Holy Book of Islam- 'Quran'. The song plays at a time when helpless Ranbir Kapoor in the movie has almost given up on his life but the song is more or less his motivation, it praises and makes you believe in Lord and reminds you how he was there to bless you when your whole world turned it's back on you! The music just does something to you, something that mere words can't express.
One word - Soulful
2.Kahin to Hogi Wo - Is there anyone who did not love this movie. For most of what I can remember, 'Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na' and its songs were really popular (all those who never had danced before have danced to 'Pappu can't dance Saala' at least once, let's be real).
Best friends who are with different people, failing to realize that they are in love with each other. The song talks about a time where they can be together, a time when life is not really mad at them or punishing them. A world where they are right where they should be, in each other's arms.
Friendship and love, reluctance to accept their feelings and then realization.
What a cute song :')
3. Tu Na Jaane Aas Paas He Khuda - 'With the color of your dreams you color this entire world as well'.
Intense and powerful, this song is inspiring at a completely different level. It tells the soul to keep working hard, to be strong as a rock and urges one to recreate their own destiny. A song to remind you that you are never alone, you have a companion within you and it is in the form of Lord.
4. Phir le Aaya Dil - Lost love comes back to haunt you and remind you of the memories buried deep inside. Arijit Singh's voice blends with the beautifully penned lyrics on regret and settling for society's pressure and failing to enjoy and find happiness in true love. Illena D'cruz gracefully expresses her regret about losing her love in this movie, and now as it comes back she is reminded of her hidden feelings but the sad part is she cannot do a thing about it. Beautifully written, touches your heart!

5. Aaoge Jab Tum- Nobody should dare tell me otherwise, Jab we Met is such a cute, romantic movie. It has my heart and so does this song. When Kareena gets all pink due to her cries as she eagerly awaits her love to accept her after promising her the whole world, he downright rejects her and that gets your eyes welled up too. It's a song on surrender, surrendering to a love that was never real. Heartbreaking but it breaks you to teach you that love is not always meant to be, it can hurt you, tear you apart but you have to pull yourself together and fight for true happiness and satisfaction.
6. Iktara - A heart-warming song that captures the essence of falling in love. It can be scary, you don't realize when it happens, you are unsure of the path ahead but you are oh so lost in it. The magical feeling that makes you ponder over your future and your life and how things will turn out really reaches out to you through the lyrics of this song and it's melody. As Konkana Sen looks at her love with adoration we all somewhere relate to it, the song and the emotion it conveys.
7. Give me some sunshine - 3 idiots just stayed in every student's ( especially science students) heart just like that with its brilliant comic timing and songs on friendship, fun, and love. But this song just makes it to the top. It talks about the struggles of engineering students, how the education system and our society have almost made us lose ourselves. 'Give me another chance I wanna grow up once again' that line sure hit us all real hard.
Trapped in the journey of extreme competition are our innocent young lives and this song is a cry, a cry to everyone who wants us to be latched to this merciless system.

8. Noor e Khuda - Searching for the light of God, the song that conveys the emotion of loneliness and helplessness and the eager wait to seek light in these dark paths, a cry to the Lord to help us through this period of despair, Noor e Khuda cements itself into our hearts as we listen to it when we find ourselves helpless and in need of motivation.
9. Khwabon Ke Parindey - 'Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara' was quick to become a favorite for everyone. This whole song is truly poetic and takes you away from your daily struggles and worries just for a brief moment. Living life in it's true sense, enjoying it like it's your last day and listening to your heart for once is all that the song and its pleasing music tries to convey. It's beautiful and with Hrithik Roshan just being all beaut in this video, it's all too pretty to watch!

Trust me I could make a whole never-ending list with touching songs and poetic lyrics but I can't go on for that long! But you can always let me know some of your favorites in the comment section below. :)
